About Me

Hi! My name is Jeff Johnson. I love the great outdoors, engineering, technology, and DIY (Do It Yourself) projects. I live in the suburbs of Tulsa, OK with my wife and our dog.

Me and my family!

I received my BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Oklahoma,  and I have been practicing engineering professionally for 4 years in the aerospace industry.

I’ve been practicing engineering personally for much longer though:

Me learning to drill. Someone get me some safety glasses!

I’ve also been interested in exploring the great outdoors from a young age. My first memories of the outdoors are with my uncle and my cousin at Arbuckle Lake. My late Grandpa had a cabin down there and we would go down and hang out, walk around the woods, and fish for catfish late into the night. Great times!

Early outdoor adventure: a huge bass I caught in the lake near our house!

I received formal outdoor education and training from the National Outdoor Leardership School (NOLS) in the summer of 1999. I spend two weeks backpacking through the Bridger-Teton National Forest. It was an incredible experience as a 14 year old kid from the flatlands that I still draw from today.

Family vacation in Glacier NP shortly after my NOLS course.

That’s me in a few paragraphs and pictures!
